How to use it

  1. Add Heardloom to ChatGPT. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, search for Heardloom Voice Memoir and add it. Or mention Heardloom in a chat and approve it when asked.
  2. Export the WhatsApp chat with media. In WhatsApp, open the chat, choose Export chat and Attach Media (Include media on Android).
  3. Attach the ZIP and choose the person. Ask ChatGPT to make a memoir of their voice notes and attach the ZIP. Heardloom lists the people who sent voice notes; pick one and confirm the consent statement.
  4. Let ChatGPT shape the chapters. When the transcripts are ready, ChatGPT reads them and proposes chapter titles in the person's own words.
  5. Preview and order. Look through the pages in the card, then order: the address and payment are entered on heardloom.ambientapp.ai.

What Heardloom does and doesn't do

  • It keeps one person's voice notes, chosen by the name WhatsApp shows, and deletes the rest of the export.
  • It transcribes in the language spoken and dates every note from the export.
  • It doesn't identify voices, make voiceprints, or clone or imitate anyone's voice.
  • It doesn't read your other chats: only the export you attach.
  • Payment happens on heardloom.ambientapp.ai, never in ChatGPT.

Questions

Does ChatGPT hear the voice notes?

No. The audio stays on Heardloom's server. ChatGPT receives the names of the people in the export and, after you choose, the transcripts of that one person's notes so it can suggest chapters.

What happens to the rest of the chat?

The chat text, photos and videos are deleted as soon as Heardloom has read who sent each voice note. Other people's voice notes are deleted when you choose the person, or after two hours if you don't.

Can I fix what the transcript says?

Yes: tap a note in the card, or ask ChatGPT to correct a misheard word. The original recording is always the reference.

The export is too big to attach. What now?

Ask for an upload page. It takes exports up to 1 GB from any browser and runs the same choice and consent.

Is there a Heardloom account?

No. Memoirs belong to your ChatGPT account, and family members open the listening pages without signing in.
