How a book with QR codes that play the voice works

Each chapter opens with a QR code that links to a private page holding that chapter's recordings; point any phone camera at it and the voice plays in the browser, with no app or account. Heardloom prints the code and a short web address under it, and keeps the recordings online so the codes keep working.

Listening from the page

  1. Open the camera. On iPhone or Android, open the camera app and point it at the chapter's QR code.
  2. Tap the link. A page opens with every recording of that chapter, in the order they were sent, each with its date and transcript.
  3. Press play. Play one note or all of them. The code on the back cover opens every chapter.

Heardloom keeps recordings for as long as you keep the memoir and at least five years after an order, and you can download every recording to keep yourself.

Are the pages public?

They are unlisted: not indexed by search engines and reachable only with the code.

Can someone without a smartphone use it?

The web address printed under each code works in any browser.
